SALT. Max Sun is the sunglass of the Max we already sell as optical: a 1950s unisex silhouette rebuilt in Japanese acetate, now with polarized CR-39 in the chassis. Same Hollywood proportion, same rivet-hinge acetate — sun, not Rx. Max (optical) is live on the shop at the optical price; this listing is the sunglass only.
Japanese acetate, functional rivet hinges, acetate thickness set so the lens is supported. Colorways on saltoptics.com specify polarized CR-39 (pairings below). Designed in California. Handcrafted in Japan. Frame $535 (Black $560).
Who it’s for. Anyone who wants the Max look as sun. 50 mm eye, 20 mm bridge, 148 mm temples, 39 mm depth — the same written size as Max RX. Come in and check the 20 mm bridge; it is kinder than many acetate squares.
Shape. Unisex 1950s-inspired square (sun). Manufacturer describes a bold reread of a mid-century silhouette.
Material. Premium Japanese acetate; functional rivet hinges; Japanese componentry. Polarized CR-39 as listed on each colorway. The Max Sun Details accordion does not publish glass or coating bullets (omitted).
Origin. Designed in California. 100% made in Japan.
